This book will make you want to keep flipping the pages and will make you desperate to know what is going to happen next. The book is absolutely intriguing, gripping and fast-paced. It will compel you. I never felt like reading a book, it was all kinda happening in front of me (like a movie). I absolutely loved the book and would love to go through the future works of the author.

Kyle Berkley takes us on a wild dirt bike joyride through the crime ridden streets of Baltimore City..

Legacy continues important conversations about concepts such as gentrification, corruption, and gang violence within a narrative that keeps your attention. Tiffany Gibbons is a mother, entrepreneur, and a pillar in her community. Most of all, she is a character you can root for as she deals with past trauma, an active serial killer, and harassment from Titan Industries and the Alphas.

Void is a great build-up and then Legacy explodes. The twists and the turns and the roller coaster of emotions are NOT ok, in the best way. This would be one hell of a Netflix series in my opinion.

With Baltimore as its backdrop, in the same tradition as Homicide and The Corner, Dr Berkley spins a tale seemingly ripped from the same headlines. Touching on the institutional, structural issues to mental illness and family structure. No stone is left unturned. You see your family, and the people in your neighborhood constantly echoing through the characters. Areas of gray and nuance that get lost in politics, sound bites, and outrage. It’s the humanity that many forget when speaking about many conflicts and communities.

“A compelling story about Baltimore City. Kyle Berkley does a wonderful job showing the neglected communities that have been taken over by the drug culture. Berkley’s The Void puts on full display the negative effects drugs have had on certain neighborhoods in the city of Baltimore. Through the devastating life of the main character Tiffany Simms, we learn how drugs take a hold of not just the drug dealers, but whole families, the police force, state’s attorney, and the community. Berkley is a remarkable storyteller. He doesn’t shy away from the issues that make us uncomfortable.”
