A native of Baltimore, MD, Dr. Kyle Berkley has worked as a social worker for nine years. During that time, he has provided mental health therapy, grief counseling and case management at Baltimore shelters, hospitals, transitional houses, outpatient medical, crisis response teams and substance abuse treatment centers. Kyle and his wife operate a nonprofit organization called the 4 Us Initiative that provides safe housing for victims of domestic violence, homeless families and preventive care for adolescents. In his free time, Kyle likes to work out and read comic books. The Wake is his first novel.
